How This Is Built

Bharat Bazaar maps what every district of India is famous for producing, and connects buyers to the people who make it.

Research

Product data is gathered by a local large language model (Qwen3.8-27B, running offline on the operator's own hardware) driven through the pi agent CLI with a live web-search tool. For every district the model runs multiple web searches and must attach real source URLs to each product. Anything it cannot cite is dropped by a validator before it reaches this site — the model is not trusted to recall facts from memory.

Each product carries a confidence rating: high means two or more independent sources agreed, medium means one solid source, low means the sourcing is weak and you should verify. Sources are printed on every product page so you can check them yourself.

19 images are pulled from Wikimedia Commons under free licences (CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-SA or public domain) with the photographer and licence recorded and displayed. No copyrighted or stock imagery is used anywhere. Where no freely licensed photograph exists, a generated placeholder is shown instead.

Sellers

Listings marked Sample listing are prototype placeholders generated to demonstrate the marketplace — they are plausible, regionally accurate shapes for a shop, but they are not real businesses and are labelled as such everywhere they appear. Real shops register through Sell With Us and appear unlabelled once merged.

Coverage

4 districts researched · 29 products catalogued · 60 seller listings. West Bengal is being completed first; the rest of India follows district by district, and this site rebuilds every time new data lands.
