Uttar Dinajpur
Uttar Dinajpur is a rice-bowl and tea-growing district of the Malda Division in North Bengal. The Raiganj and Islampur plains grow the GI-protected Tulaipanji aromatic rice — the district's ODOP product — while the Terai foothills produce Dooars-Terai CTC tea (including the Jay Shree/B.K. Birla 'Kumarika' garden) and the ponds yield makhana (fox nut). The village of Kunore in the Kaliyaganj block is famous for its terracotta and clay-pottery industry.
