Rice (paddy) is the main crop of Alipurduar, grown across the district's plains, and the district economy depends mainly on agriculture. Local manufacturers and exporters supply white paddy rice, parboiled rice and assorted long-grain varieties from the district, and organic paddy is traded by farmer companies in Alipurduar at wholesale rates.
